Next Steps is not the gospel. It does not save you. Only faith in Jesus Christ dying on the cross as the sacrifice for our sins, can save us. Next Steps is meant to be a resource for us. Taking biblical principles and disciplines that will assist us as we "grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ." (2 Peter 3:18) Think of it as a helpful map on our path to becoming disciples.

We are not all at the same place on that path though. Some people reading this will have been followers of Jesus for many years and involved as a member of the Church just as long. Others may be exploring church and God for the very first time. Welcome! We do not expect perfect people, nor do we want to try and create any. Christ is perfect and is completely enough. Our desire is to love and disciple all people in the gospel to become devoted followers of Jesus, for His glory. The Bible tells us to "equip the saints for the work of ministry" (Ephesians 4:12-16), and we take that role very seriously.

"1 You then, my child, be strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus, 2 and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also." (1 Timothy 2:1-2). This is our hope for Next Steps. That we would use this as a tool for discipleship, so that replication is not just possible, but probable.
